Landau, Hess, Simon, Choi & Doebley is one of the oldest law firms in the United States with an exclusive practice in immigration law. The original firm, Baumann and DeSeve, was established in 1980 by Peter Baumann and Karren DeSeve. With the addition of Jon Landau in 1985, the firm became Baumann, DeSeve & Landau and in 2010, with the addition of Nicole Simon, it became Baumann, Landau & Simon. Peter Baumann and Karren DeSeve are now retired from the practice of law but we continue to seek to follow their outstanding example in our immigration practice of a singular devotion to reaching the best possible outcome for each of our clients.
Throughout our long history, we have been recognized as one of the leading firms in the field. Our long-standing reputation has been built through the successful representation of thousands of clients in all aspects of immigration proceedings. Our strategic partnership in 2016 with nationally renowned immigration law practitioners Wendy Castor Hess and Yuah Jessica Choi, formerly of Goldblum & Hess, further bolstered our ability to meet the immigration needs of both large and small businesses as well as private individuals. Our newest partner, Jack Doebley, former of Steel, Doebley, & Glassman, brings with him 20 plus years of experience in business immigration law. With the addition of Jack, we look forward to continuing to provide comprehensive and personalized immigration law services.
Representation in the field of immigration law requires highly specialized knowledge and expertise. Landau, Hess, Simon, Choi & Doebley dedicates its practice solely to this complex area of the law. This concentration allows us to provide representation that addresses all aspects of our clients’ immigration needs, from entry to the United States through U.S. citizenship. The attorneys at Landau, Hess, Simon, Choi & Doebley value a commitment to providing quality and individualized representation to each client. Based on our extensive experience, we are able to assess our clients’ needs and recommend a comprehensive approach to obtaining their goals. We then dedicate ourselves to accomplishing our clients’ goals as quickly as possible.
Landau, Hess, Simon, Choi & Doebley believes that it is important for our clients to understand the procedures which will be followed from the beginning of our representation. We also believe that it is important to keep our clients advised of the progress of their cases. Our clients are encouraged to call or email us to discuss their cases at any time.
We are proud to be certified as a majority women-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (“WBENC”), the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. With our WBENC certification, our firm can satisfy a client’s Supplier Diversity Program requirements. Our firm is also a member of the International Network of Boutique Law Firms (“INBLF”), an organization of highly regarded boutique law firms, each of which has been qualified as outstanding in each firm’s respective legal specialty. Each member firm practices, and is preeminent, in only one or two specialized areas. The purpose of the INBLF is, among other things, to ensure that each firm’s clients will receive only the highest quality legal representation through a vetted referral network of top law firms. LHSCD is the only immigration law firm in the Philadelphia area that has been selected to join INBLF. In addition, we are listed in “The Best Law Firms of America,” published annually by U.S. News & World Report, and our lawyers have been recognized by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, and the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers.
