TPS Terminated for Nicaragua

July 10, 2025

On July 8, 2025, DHS Secretary Noem announced the decision to terminate Temporary Protected Status for Nicaragua. This termination is effective September 8, 2025, at 11:59 PM, meaning that after this date nationals from Nicaragua will no longer have TPS. These individuals will lose their ability to work lawfully in the U.S., and they may also be subjected to removal. Nicaragua nationals will no longer have protected status in the U.S. This will impact roughly 4,000 Nicaraguans.
