USCIS has announced that they will publish the revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification by November 22, 2016. However, employers may continue to use the old version of the form (dated 03/08/2013) through January 21, 2017. The new form will become mandatory the following day.
USCIS also issued this reminder: “Employers should continue to retain and store previously completed forms for existing and former employees in accordance with guidance provided on I-9 Central.”
