June Visa Bulletin: Extreme Retrogression for China EB-3; Retrogression of 1+ Years for Mexico and “All Other” EB-3, and for all F2-A Chargeability Areas

The June Visa Bulletin has just been released, and it has bad news for many who were hoping to be eligible for adjustment of status to permanent residence in the coming months. Unfortunately, the Department of State warns that this may not be the last round of retrogressions this year, so anyone whose priority dates are current are urged to get their permanent residence applications submitted quickly.

Family-Based Categories

F2-A will see retrogression across the board (-1 year and 1 month for Mexico; -1 year and 4 months everywhere else), while cutoff dates for all other family-based categories will advance between 1 week and 2.5 months. June’s cutoff dates are below:

Employment-Based Categories

Cutoff dates China EB-3 and China All Other Workers will retrogress by 6 years and 9 years 9 months, respectively. Mexico and “All Other” will move back 1.5 years. India EB-2 will not move at all, while the remaining non-current categories will advance between 2 weeks and 2 months. June’s cutoff dates are below:

Future Guidance

As mentioned, the Department of State is warning that additional retrogressions are likely for 2014. Their guidance is worth reprinting in full:
