Important USCIS Policy Update – Adjustment of Status Applications and Medical Exams

December 3, 2024

On December 2, 2024, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) released an alert requiring certain Form I-485 Adjustment of Status applicants to submit their Form I-693, Medical Exam and Vaccination Records with their Form I-485. Failure to do so may result in their Form I-485 being rejected.

USCIS has updated their Form I-485 instructions to make the filing of Form I-485 and Form I-693 a requirement. This policy update has been implemented to reduce the number of RFEs (“Requests for Evidence”) USCIS issues before adjudication Form I-485 applications.

If you believe this new policy may impact your case, or have any additional questions, please set up a consultation with one of our attorneys by filling out our Consultation Request Form.
