FY2024: H-1B Initial Electronic Registration Selection Process Completed

March 27, 2023

For Fiscal Year 2024’s initial registration period, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) has reached its annual quota for new H-1B cap registrations, including petitions that are eligible for the advanced degree exemption (master’s cap).  USCIS has notified employers of the selection results.

Employers with selected registrations (regular cap and master’s cap) may only file H-1B cap-subject petitions for the named foreign employee on the selection notice.  For FY2024, the filing period will begin on April 1, 2023 and remain open until at least June 30, 2023.

Note: USCIS will not use prepaid mailers for any communications or final notices related to FY2024 cap-subject H-1B petitions.  Additionally, due to the likely increase in filing volumes, USCIS anticipates some potential delays with issuing receipt notices and has advised against submitting a second petition; this will result in a denial or revocation of both petitions.  However, you may contact the USCIS Contact Center for assistance if more than 30 days have passed since the confirmation of delivery and you have not received a Form I-797.
