On April 30, 2021, the Biden Administration announced that, due to increased COVID rates, travel from India would be restricted beginning Tuesday, May 4. The policy will apply to anyone who has been present in India within 14 days preceding planned travel to the United States. The policy will not apply to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents, along with certain other exempted individuals.
This announcement adds India to the list of countries with similar travel restrictions, which includes Brazil, China, South Africa, Iran, and the majority of European countries.
Please contact an attorney at LHSCD if you have plans to travel abroad and have questions about these policies.
