USCIS Will Accept H-4 EAD Applications Starting Next Tuesday; Releases FAQ

May 20, 2015

With applications for USCIS’s new H-4 EAD program being accepted as early as next Tuesday, USCIS has released additional information on the program, including answers to some frequently-asked questions regarding eligibility and application procedures. Click here to read the FAQ in full.

Among the clarifications and answers:

  • This is not a one-time opportunity; applicants can renew their EAD cards for as long as they remain eligible (see eligibility details here).
  • You must be physically present in the United States when you submit your application.
  • You may file your I-765 application in conjunction with a change of status or extension of status application.

While the opening date for this program is fast approaching, there are still a few days to wait before submitting an application. Applications that arrive at USCIS prior to May 26th are likely to be rejected.
